Your new address puts you less than 5 minutes away from the Youngsville sports complex where any given Saturday morning is home to over 500 kids participating in every sport available. It's an overwhelming sight to pass by and see, moms, dads, grandparents and siblings cheering on their athlete. Also 5 minutes away is Lafayette parishes newest and most modern high school, Southside High. Crepemyrtle is home to many Sharks, some having the privilege of being part of the first graduating class.
Crepemyrtle is home to diverse groups of people from many walks of life. Residents include retirees, single people, lots of families with children. Crepemyrtle is inclusive and everyone looks out for each other. Residents include police officers, nurses, fire fighters, machinists, managers, dog groomers, customer service reps, sales, hospitality and entertainers. A good cross section of people. The one common thread that runs through all residents is their pride of ownership and desire to have good neighbors. Crepemyrtle maintains a private Facebook page for residents only that is used exclusively to communicate with each other. As an example of Crepemyrtle community, every spring there is an inspection of the premises, and discrepancies are noted. We then have a clean-up day where people volunteer to help those that need assistance. In 2024 clean-up day was canceled, as residents on their own helped who needed help and the park was up to the high standards without management.
